About this Publication and How it Became What it is

Last Updated on Feb 24, 2009
Archived Copy of Version Two

To help save old articles and topics, I have archived Version Two of Hell Yeah Dude (Launch V2)

We can start from the beginning or just talk about the end result, none the less both are important experiences to learn from

This Web site began as a simple way for me to express my long lasting love for design. My name is Patrick Algrim, I am the person who created this Web site, as well as Principal and Creative director at a small design firm I have dubbed P41 Studios.

I have been interested in Web design and general art for the longest time, since I was about 11 years old. I created my first Web site in 5TH grade and never really stopped. Whatever interest I had growing up, never really flew too far away from Web design. It was just one of those things that could match any interest I had at any given time, I loved and still do love that flexibility when it comes to art.

Initially, this Web site was created as a holding place for young authors looking to break into the design world with their own thoughts, beliefs and topics. After the first design came out, traffic started to build, then the second design came out and traffic really started to build. Some select humans became contributors, but none stayed. After almost a year and half with the same design (“Version Two” as we can call it right now), I decided it was best to move in a direction that still kept contributors apart of this Web site, but in a new way.

Now, when you take part in the community of this Web site, all you have to do is leave comments on specific topics. Your comment gives you the ability to broaden your reach as a brand, and expand your name. All the while, taking part in the industry and contributing to topics that help the design industry and community grow.

It’s not about how we have succeeded, but about how we have failed, that’s what has gotten us to this point

It’s true, the original theme and idea of the Web site isn’t even close to what it is now. But it doesn’t mean that new idea’s cannot arise, and quality cannot stay. We focus on articles, topics, and discussion that most don’t. An uncommon approach to Web, since we are now helping to improve, instead of just inform.

Thank you for taking part and being an active member in this simple community of driven and strong individuals.
