A resolution to stay positive

by Patrick Algrim

New Years Eve 2007It has been a slow couple of weeks here at Hell Yeah Dude, we have been setting up for a new year and a new years worth of projects. Around this time of year, I believe so many people start contemplating their lives. Not only are they setting a new years resolution for themselves, but also for their own careers.

I recently have talked to a couple of amazing men, which I may discuss more about in the future. But I also talked to a couple of older men and women who really made me second guess myself. I love sharing new ideas and projects with others (which, is not the smartest thing in the world to do), but I find that whenever I do share my ideas and thoughts there is one thing that others seem to do. They seem to think negatively. Now, usually I have contemplated my ideas every which way before telling others about it. I have thought about the marketing, the scoop, the hook, the product, the sale, and everything that deals with the project. But every time I pitch the idea to a person who may not think “globally.” They give me only negative comments.

So what should you take from this experience as a blogger or as an entrepreneur? In this new year, remember one thing, don’t let anyone take away from your original idea. If you have an idea or a thought that you feel strongly about, don’t let anyone take your enthusiasm away from you. Remember to grasp onto your enthusiasm and your idea, hold on tight to it. If you have an idea which isn’t becoming successful quickly, remember that nothing in this world will give you instant gratification to success. You are the only one that can keep your ideas and dreams positive. This new year, don’t let anyone change you.

  1. Keep fighting the good fight. You’ve got a good thing going on, I’m sure you’re other projects are going to rock as well.

  2. Some very sound and very positive advice. The concluding sentence of this post is the one I’m holding onto most ferociously.
Keep up the good work. I wish you lots, nay, bucket loads of happiness in 2008.
