Diferior offers a content management system with a torrent tracker

by Patrick Algrim

download.jpgWhat looks to be a great little content management system, also includes a torrent tracker. Diferior seems to be in beta still, but I have been looking for a simple way to make a torrent tracker. I have always wanted to share files with users in a community. No matter if they be illegal files or legal files just for humorous sharing purposes, I think it engages your readers a little more.

Allowing your Web site to have a torrent tracker could not only ensure that you always have new content, but also could be beneficial for those who wish to start an MP3 blog. Hosting can be expensive for a startup, so making any possible cuts in places to help the monthly cost will ensure your startup stays going strong.

Diferior reminds me of a community portal more than a content management system, I say this because of the way it is build. The templates remind me of Drupal or some of the PHP forums available. It doesn’t look like you change very much on Diferior yet, since it just released its system out of a beta.

Could this possibly be the new trend? Content management systems with torrent trackers? Possibly! I started looking for other ways to create a torrent tracker using the most popular content management system of all, WordPress! Looks like their is one option available, WPBT is a torrent tracker plugin that we have not tried out yet, but looks very promising. You can find out more information about the plugin here, feel free to give it a shot on your latest MP3 blog.

  1. Thanks for writing about Diferior, appreaciate it ;)

Diferior is no longer beta software. While I still wouldn’t call it rock-solid (bugs still pop up here and there), it’s pretty stable and perfectly usable in production environment.

Diferior uses Smarty for templating, so it’s fairly easy to make it look the way you want, without any PHP knowledge. All you need is some HTML and CSS experience (Smarty is a plus).

  2. Diferior looks really good, and I love the idea behind it. CMS are really easy to come across today, people creating them for profit and people creating them for usage (EE).. But I like this idea, it reminds me of the pirate bloggers, as well as the bloggers looking to “share” in a Web 2.0 manner, but maybe don’t have the power to do so. I think this is a better direction for people looking for Web 2.0 services.

Thanks for commenting again, Diferior looks like an awesome product, we couldn’t hold back from posting about it’s benefits to our readers!
