Gaining holiday traffic and winning our holiday contest!

by Patrick Algrim

The holidays are coming up, and what most bloggers and publishers don’t know is that Google usage increases around this time. Just as retail stores get more business due to the holidays, more people are searching Google. Here is your chance to start getting a lot of unique visitors.

A week back we posted about “Top 5 gifts for women designers this Christmas.” What people don’t know is that just because I used the term “women” and “Christmas” I started getting a lot of unique visitors searching for those terms. I have gotten search terms like “cute earrings as gifts for girlfriends” and “top women designers.”

While those terms have NOTHING to do with my Web site, they do relate to some of the topics. How great is that search engine optimization? So here is my suggestion to all of you publishers and bloggers. Start relating your content to something people are going to search for around the holidays. Make a post about best places designers go for New Year’s Eve. Or make a “top gift ideas for Christmas” post. Because just making those posts will undoubtedly gain you more traffic and ensure people are still visiting your site during the time of the year when you can’t focus on your work the most. Be sure you have your blog or Web site properly optimized for search engines. You will have to hold tight until next week when we tell you how to optimize your blog like our Web site!

Alright, now onto the good stuff! Hell Yeah Dude! will be opening a store this week. Inside that store we will be offering these amazing coasters! The coasters are fun to use, great to entertain your guests with and will be perfect for your “designer toys” collection.

Hell Yeah Dude CoastersThe coasters are made on 80pt boards, meaning they are easily reusable after much saturation. They are designed in Rockwell and Baskerville Italic (the fonts and colors of Hell Yeah Dude!). The coasters are $8 for a set of four, with an additional $2 shipping charge. So for $10 you will receive these great limited-edition, high quality printed, fun coasters for all of your friends to enjoy.

Using the coasters is simple. Write your friend’s name in the provided spot with a permanent marker or pen, and get creative with their name. We suggest using “douche” or “pussy” so you can reuse it with all of your friends that ask for a coaster at your place. Who needs a coaster when you can chug the beer?

Unboxing the coasters! So onto the contest; it’s simple to enter! All you have to do is comment on this post. I will randomly select one person to win this great gift for the holidays! Commenting with a funny quote or reason why you should win these great coasters will also help! Double your chances of winning by also heading to our contest over at wpcandy.com.

Head into the store to buy the coasters now!

  1. i don’t really have a good reason why i should win them. i don’t really associate myself with the type of person who would need this. all of my friends can hang. i suppose it’d be useful when a friend of a friend comes over and starts acting like a punani. i just think they look cool.

    hell yeah dude

  2. haha. very funny.

several of my friends fit this description, including myself. beer is not a chuggable drink! sorry.

  3. haha no offense intended. merely joking. beer is to be enjoyed on some occasions. sam adams oktoberfest is a prime example.

    cheers!

  4. Great college gift. Especially for those friends who ::cough:: can’t drink a beer like a man :::cough:::

  5. See, why not be extra creative and use a name like Douchebag McPussypants? I’m sure I could easily use this on some of my friends to get them to drink excessively. Everyone wins in the end! Except my friends, because they would be hung over.

All that aside, they’re actually well done coasters, and a great way to sell unique merchandise.

  6. “helo, my name is_____& I cant chug a beer, but I can make you ______ in less than a minute.”

  7. hahahahahilarious. that would have been awesome.

  8. I am very happy that people actually started commenting to enter the contest… Its like I can’t even give free stuff away sometimes!

  9. @Carl, yeah that would have been pretty hilarious. We are going to have some other products in the future too. What people don’t know, is that with every pack they receive, I have also created a couple of small drinking games that you can play WITH the coasters, yes it is true!

  10. Well these coasters are funky dory! I need them so I can avoid the sticky rings on my desk.

  11. hahaha… i love this. good witty humor my friend, a genuine idea.

its too bad i wont need to win these, so you may as well ignore my comment as an entry. because when me and my buddies drink…. we shotgun tall cans of 8.1 and nothin less. steelys, hurricanes, king cobra, you get this jist. no need for a coaster when the cans been cut open and emptied. and my buddy, hes known for his kegstands with no one supportin his legs, he climbs up it himself… but i guess you dont need a coaster for a kegstand huh? hmm lemme get a pack then!

(disclaimer: some of my beer drinking skills are slightly overexaggerated)

  12. those are the most clever coasters i’ve seen. very very nice. also, i love your website. i’ve got it on my rss feed taskbar!
