Hell Yeah Dude will be attending Chicago’s Seed Conference June 6th, 2008
Just recently announced, the newest edition (3rd) of the Seed Conference in Chicago. For all you Chicago designers out there I suggest you all take an interest in this conference. With only 270 seats available, I suggest you get your registration in hand as soon as possible. While there are some really great smaller design boutiques in Chicago, I don’t find there to be too many development firms, or even people with the Web 2.0 mind-set. That being said, I don’t think it is completely dry in Chicago, I just don’t think there is as much of a flowing market as maybe, San Francisco.
I have talked previously about conferences I am planning to attend in Chicago, to help bring out the word about myself as well as the development and design interest in Chicago. So I suggest anyone in Chicago do the same! If you are a fan of Gary Vaynerchuk (of Wine Library TV) then this conference will be great for you. Looks like he will be in attendance along with Jake Nickell of SkinnyCorp and Jim Coudal of Coudal Partners or better known for “ads via The Deck.”
Interesting to me that Gary Vaynerchuk is speaking at this conference. Because of the other speakers having more of a creative graphic development mindset. With Coudal Partners making video and SkinnyCorp being obviously interested in graphic design with Threadless… But from what I have heard, Gary seems to be a very good public speaker, which may be why he has become the face behind Web 2.0 without actually doing anything behind the scenes. Does this mean faces can represent Web 2.0 Web sites now without actually being on the development team? I must admit Gary is great at networking, not only on the web, but also in real life. With appearances on Ellen, Conan, and Nightline, it is easy to see his skills. I have heard Gary speak of his networking goals and the television experiences on The Web 2.0 Show.
Never the less, the conference seems great. Just like I have said before, no great design conferences seem to come to Chicago, so I am very pleased to see this line up! I hope to see you all there! Follow me on twitter if you wish to get a better 200 character relationship with me. Discussion about Coudal Partners, Seed Conference, and other Chicago boutiques coming up soon.

Patrick,
I attended the last SEED conference, and it was great. Each speaker will leave you with something that makes the ticket price well worth it. Carlos Segura is definitely the sleeper hit of the conference, he gives some great advice for dealing with clients, and taking creative risk.

Yeah he is really a genius man. I cannot wait to hear him speak. Although it seems like they are just having the heavy hitters from Chicago. I want them to bring in some fresh blood. Like I have said, conferences in San Fran or in Arizona (anywhere in the west coast) seem to be a lot more enthusiastic. We will see.
Will you be in attendance for this 3rd edition of SEED?
hah!
