Looks like FFFFound is in for a surprise. Not letting a vast majority of users register for their services seems have been a mistake. Image bookmarking hunters are looking for other services to quench their cravings. We heart it is a visual bookmarking tool that has some useful features FFFFound does not. Aside from the fact that it is open registration, archiving seems to be much easier on We heart it than on FFFFound.

The nice thing about We heart it is the easy registration, no activation emails, no nothing. Just sign up and start hearting images and visual coordinations of beauty. A nice couple of extra options are the “trackbacks” or “tags” of people who hearted the object. That way you have the ability to share interests with other users, offering a social networking tool for creative use. We heart it is very lightweight, much like FFFFound. While rumors stir that FFFFound has some interesting developments on how to “FFFFind” an image and tell others about it, We heart it seems to be the secondary choice for users who might feel like FFFFound won’t open their doors.

Our prediction? FFFFound will see this happen, and push themselves to opening the Web site to others. Yahoo will either make a Web site specifically for image bookmarking or buy one of the two available (like Yahoo has been doing with Yahoo Live! *cough* Justin.tv *cough*). UPDATE: Playing with We heart it a little more and noticed that the bookmarklet ALSO selects the image that you want to ‘heart’. Meaning that FFFFound and We heart it are neck and neck when it comes to features.
