Yahoo! Live launches and creates a stir
Looks like Yahoo! Live launched with a very quiet opening, but it has had a much larger impact than more could have seen coming.
We have been discussing the viral video age coming to an end, and this is just even more proof that life casting is becoming the next best thing to market in. Yahoo! created a soft opening for its new life casting page, which as of today has gotten bombarded with viewers.
Our recent article discussed the downfall of viral video’s, looks like Yahoo! has also seen the next step in the video web revolution. We were involved with justin.tv from the beginning, and knew it was going to be the next big step and innovation. Looks like Yahoo! has agreed with this theory and decided to launch its own life casting page for all Yahoo! members.
So whats the benefit of this? Well, viral video’s are on the downfall, while it might still be interesting and get tons of traffic through digg.com, life casting can be the new way to marketing via word of mouth. Imagine if someone who gets 200 live life casting viewers every minute or so. The returning traffic has no question about it, viewers who watch the life casting will become involved with that person. On this basis you have a personal relationship with the person life casting, this is the ultimate form of word of mouth. Think about this, if you find the life cast interesting, you are obviously going to show your friends. I remember that I did when justin.tv came out!
Imagine if one of the heavy hitting life casters had advertisements behind them at all times (much like the justin.tv channel did for a long period of time in the beginning). This makes such a larger impact, and a LIVE impact than a viral video. The viral video stays the same, but life casting changes every minute. New content is formed every single minute, so keeping your viewers active in your channel is much easier than any viral video.
Interesting huh? Keep checking back, we have known about life casting for quite a while now, but only recently have larger companies started to see the benefits of the product, this is what we are covering.
Interesing thoughts, do you think people will forget that justin.tv was the one of the first ones out there with this idea. To the masses who don’t know about life casting, this will be something “new” to them… Meaning, all of the Yahoo! members will find this to be a new interest, will justin.tv be forgotten as the originator or creator of the life casting revolution
