Your Favorite RSS Feed Swap Meet

by Patrick Algrim

I believe I had admitted before that I don’t subscribe to any RSS feeds. If not, I am admitting it now. The reason being, is that I personally would rather give the Web sites traffic by visiting them daily. I have bookmarks, and I prefer the “old school” way of checking on news. I think it also keeps my memory in tact, because I often have to memorize and remember my “morning Web site URL’s.” I also find it nice to appreciate the time put into the design of the Web site that I enjoy so much.

But I have come to the realization that I am very old fashioned, and that I should have at least a couple of Web sites that I subscribe to (via RSS). Also, I realized that by subscribing the RSS feed, I am also helping that blog or Web site just as much as giving them daily traffic. Since, most Web sites are judged by their RSS reader count, I think it makes just as large of an impact. So I will be downloading a RSS reader (feel free to comment on your favorite RSS reader if you wish), and subscribing to my favorite Web sites.

The RSS Feed Sharing Project

Which that brings me to this nice little comment project. Since I will be starting to read some new RSS feeds, I want you, my readers, to post one to three RSS feeds that you currently subscribe to. We want the good RSS feeds, so be sure you only post your favorites! To post your favorite RSS feed (be sure it is not your own Web site!), just post a comment with one to three RSS feed URL’s right below this article!

Let’s see how many RSS links we can share with others! The goal is to help others discover your favorite RSS feeds as well as help others to discover some interesting content. I hope you all participate! On a side note, to all readers — I am sorry but I will be away for a bit, since it is finals week I will not be able to post a lot of long articles. I will be back in full force next week! You can stay up to date with my week ahead by following me on Twitter, or subscribing the RSS feed so you get alerted the second I get back!

  10. It’s pretty interesting that you post this because recently I was thinking about RSS feeds and how I’m old fashioned and prefer to actually visit the site. I’m still debating, however, about subscribing. The more I think about it, the more I’m swaying.
