Peter Barker’s Empty Spaces collection is pretty great. Why you might ask? Because I think it’s beautiful that someone goes out and finds composition anywhere. At anytime in our world there may be some lonely desk just hanging out in the middle of some forgotten space, and that my friend is composition. What a wonderful outlook on life.

Jazz that will do wonders for your soul

Ray Barbee is a professional skateboarder. But one with what I feel is an extremely large musical talent. I’m a big fan of jazz and blues. This urban style of jazz feels right at home to me. Almost a Brazilian inspired Bebel Gilberto feel with hip-hop breakdowns near the chorus line. I love this song and all of Ray Barbee’s musical works.

Meet 3! Slobs. Ford Archbold, Andrew Doheny, & Kyle Kennelly. Three young surfers on the journey of life, art, and doing what they love. I truly enjoy reading the blog these slobs put out. Because it’s not only a documentation of their life (along with some shred stick footage), but a vision of how I hope our younger generations will continue to grow. A pretty interesting idea, an interactive desk. Danse Dance is a loop machine of interactive objects. Each key on your qwerty keyboard will activate a repetitive motion of one of the objects on the desk. Press multiple keys to make a storyboard of loops. Completely interesting idea by Julien Vallée.

Happened to run into this photograph. If you read frequently, you know I am obsessed with the 1960’s – 1980’s. Take a moment, stop your day, and look at this photograph. Really look at it. Feel it. Enjoy how amazingly rad it is that someone took this shot at this very moment. If you were with these guys, would you still hold up your camera or look for something that fired something other than shutters?

Something fantastically simple and gratifying about Emiliano’s work. Some of the work seems timeless, or vintage. But in essence it’s narrow character focus keeps life simple. There is a boy, he’s on a car. That’s it, and that’s beautiful.

I was watching a special on TV called “Motown Memories” on Sunday. I loved it. I think my favorite part of the video’s had to be the fashion and graphics. Watching the video above I really started enjoying the simplicity and beauty of the graphics behind Marvin. Why do we have to make our lives and elements in our lives so complex? Do we think that complexity makes us seem important?
