Katherine Westerhout shoots destruction

Katherine Westerhout has some serious photographs. I think the biggest thing that attracted me to the photograph above was the fact that it looked like ice. It looks like tons of snow and ice hanging from parts of the building, and it very well may be. But truly, I think it’s dust and particles from an old building. If the color of the photograph was mainly a blue tone, I think it would totally look like snow. I just love that kind of mind-play. Having something old and destructed look beautiful.
